The Amtrak; a new daytime soap opera

Thursday, June 11, 2009, 11:00 p.m.

So while chilling in the observation deck I met Sharon and Jillian (real names). Jillian was headed back to nebraska after having visited a dyeing friend in Grand Junction, Colorado. Jillian was young probably in mid twenties and married (shock surprise everyones married now-a-days ...Im getting old!) she is a nice girl, quiet but nice. Sharon was headed to Denver Colorado to see one of her daughter and grandchildren for the first time in like 2 years, she was way excited! She was an older lady, kinda like my grandma but she had a lot of southern phrases that I've never heard like "bite the bullet" and "whistle pig."

We all got to chatting and spent an hour or two talking before we decided to go have dinner in the dining car. We talked a lot about different things. They both being from Colorado natives they talked about the landscapes and towns . Turns out the town that Jillian now lives in Sharon was born in. How cute lol. We talked a lot about books and turns out we all have a somewhat similar taste. Sharon referred a book called Hawaii so Im gonna look if the library in whitewater has it.

We ate @ 5 for dinner in the dining car. It was a little pricey about $14- for my dinner. I had a vegetarian pasta which was picolini wrapped with a spinach cheese mixture! very good. But the vegetables were overcooked. All the meals came with a  salad and piece of bread. I think if i would have thrown the piece of bread at someone it would have given them a concussion lol. But the pasta was fabulous!

So we had entertainment during dinner (not really). But the two waiters were bickering and it just got really amusing to watch. We decided it was like watching a live soap opera and we would interpret what they were saying to each other when we couldn't hear them and etc lol. It was hilarious it got to a point where they wouldn't say a word to each otherso they would gesture if they needed something from the other and to try and so it was amusing cause they wouldn't understand each other and they only got madder.
